About Dave

After working as a graphic designer and art director for more than 20 years at a small St. Louis marketing firm, Dave struck out on his own in 2017 to become his own boss. Since then, he has built a loyal client base that appreciates his considerable skills in graphic design, illustration, photography and video production. They also love his ability to listen and offer helpful suggestions, his attention to staying on schedule and on budget, and his easy-going style. His wide-range of experience includes logo development; print and digital design; display and packaging design; promotional and fundraising videos; portraiture; and photography for events, real estate, publications and products. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Missouri State University. He enjoys watching professional soccer and foreign films with English subtitles, drinking red wine, drinking white wine and doing goofy walks in public to amuse Suzanne. He also has a fine collection of shoelaces and fingernail clippers.

About Suzanne

Suzanne has spent nearly her entire career working in non-profit health care organizations applying her communications, marketing and project management skills to help raise millions of dollars for organizations that improve people’s health and save lives. Her experience includes nearly 15 years at St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation where she gained a strong base of knowledge about fundraising. She also is a breast cancer survivor who served nearly three years as Executive Director of the Missouri affiliate of Susan G. Komen. Colleagues, volunteers and donors have valued her compassion, strong organizational skills and can-do attitude. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from The University of Tulsa and a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Missouri.  She likes running and yoga, cooking and wine tasting, assembling jigsaw puzzles and doing anything crafty. Do not trust her with your houseplants because she will kill them.

Why Brightside?

Well, blame it on the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. Was there anyone’s life that wasn’t affected? In our case, the pandemic forced a major restructure in the non-profit organization where Suzanne had been working. The organization was facing financial challenges, and Suzanne’s job responsibilities were about to change significantly. So she made the difficult decision to step down from her position. Rather than bemoan what was lost, we quite literally chose to look on the bright side. We picked up stakes and moved to live and work together in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. You could say we took the pandemic lemons and made margaritas! We’re now teamed up to offer high-quality creative work at reasonable rates to deliver an exceptional value to clients. We’re especially thrilled to use our talents to serve organizations in the non-profit sector. We would be honored to work alongside you as trusted partners in helping reach your goals.

“Suzanne is smart, strategic, creative, collaborative and an all-around good person. We worked together on some of the most challenging and gratifying projects of my career at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Always level-headed and thoughtful, and always full of insight, Suzanne is a supportive and generous colleague – with a great sense of humor! A wonderful partner with whom I'd work again in a heartbeat!”
